I am a BACP registered integrative counsellor and I provide a warm, non-judgemental and inclusive space open to individuals of all cultures, backgrounds, orientations and abilities.
While our childhood experiences play a big part in shaping who we are today, I strongly believe that each of us has the capacity to bring about transformation in our life.
Whether you are dealing with long-standing difficulties that you feel limit your ability to live a fulfilling life or you are going through a difficult patch due to a specific experience or issue, I can help you by providing a safe space where you can voice what is going on for you. My aim is to facilitate a process where you can identify your needs and live a fuller and more authentic life. Ultimately, I would like to support you in finding and putting in practice the changes and solutions that best work for you.
As an integrative therapist I draw on different approaches including psychodynamic, person-centred and Gestalt. In order to better meet your needs and support your self-expression, when relevant I incorporate the use of images and symbols, dreams and art. I work in a relational way which means that I believe that how you and I relate during the sessions can give us important insight into all relationships in your life, including how you see yourself. For me the quality of the authentic relationship we establish is at the core of the healing/transformative process.
I trained and qualified at CPPD (Centre for Personal and Professional Development) in North London. I worked at ELMS (East London Mental Health Service), seeing clients from a variety of backgrounds and dealing with a broad range of situations.
I worked in the voluntary sector in health and social care settings and community development for many years and I previously worked in the fields of education and publishing. I have extensive experience of working with people with a life limiting illness and their families, from diagnosis to end-of-life, and of supporting bereaved people. I have a keen interest in working with people affected by dementia.
My areas of interest and expertise include abuse, anxiety and panic attacks, depression, effects of migration and displacement, end of life and death, loss and bereavement, low self-esteem, managing illness or disability, intrusive thoughts and compulsions, relationship difficulties, trauma.
Other than in English, I offer sessions in Italian and Spanish.
