Sophie Bold

MBACP
Sophie Bold - Therapist & Counsellor

Hello, I am Sophie. I am a psychotherapist and counsellor, offering in-person sessions for individual adults.

About you

Perhaps you feel as though you have lost yourself somewhere, that you cannot feel the ground beneath your feet. Perhaps you have suffered trauma, that you have never felt able to explore. Perhaps you are mourning – longing for a beloved being, or for some hope or dream. Perhaps you simply want to know yourself better – who you are, why you are, how you are – and who you might become.

What I offer

I am a humanistic psychotherapist and counsellor. I work within an integrative framework, which means that I incorporate various therapeutic modalities into my work, depending on what best suits you and your needs.

At its heart, therapy is a conversation. Most of our work together will therefore consist of us talking, although we may also work somatically (with the body) or using creative techniques like visualization or drawing. I offer a space without judgment, where you can explore your experiences, your thoughts, your feelings, your relationships. I will listen to you with deep attention: both to your words and to what is unsaid, to what is expressed in your body and exists in the space between us. I will ask questions to help you to reflect on and process what you bring. My role is not to diagnose or interpret you. But together we will explore your history and identify your patterns – of thought, of behaviour, of relating. We will uncover insights and develop skills to form the basis for meaningful change.

I work with trauma (including childhood sexual abuse and sexual violence), bereavement and loss, anxiety and depression, relationships (including love, sex, intimacy) and existential concerns – life, death, meaning and purpose.

I am committed to providing a space that is inclusive and respectful of all, regardless of background, body, race, religion, sexuality or gender-identity.

I am an individual member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and I adhere to the BACP’s Ethical Framework for Good Practice.

Rates

My fee is £75 per 50-minute session. I also reserve some spaces for lower-cost therapy: please do contact me if you would like to discuss this.

Contact

The relationship between us is an important aspect of therapy. I therefore offer a free 20-minute introductory call in which you can let me know your reasons for thinking about coming to therapy, and we can talk about how we might work together. We can then decide whether to move forward with the therapy.

You can contact me by text on 07958 335 094, or by email at [email protected]. Or for more information, you can visit my website (www.sophieboldpsychotherapy.co.uk.)
