Toby Reisz

Diploma (Level 4). Integrative Counselling BACP Member
Toby Reisz - Integrative Counsellor

About me.
I am a qualified integrative counsellor and I practise mainly using a psychodynamic and person-centred approach. I work in a non-judgmental way. I encourage the client to talk about anything that is preoccupying them and I will listen with empathy. My aim is not to try to “fix” or “cure” but rather to work with the client towards developing a different relationship to their current situation, their feelings and what they want from their future.

About you.
What brings you to counselling? It could be anything but might include: a general feeling of dissatisfaction, relationship worries, anxiety, feelings of loss, a sense of not reaching your potential, trauma or feeling stuck. It may be that you don’t really know why you are considering counselling but have a sense that it may help. Or, you’ve heard other people talking about counselling and are curious to find out more.

About us.
The number of sessions is open-ended and can be online or face-to-face. Trust has to be earned and sometimes it may take a number of sessions before you feel really able to unburden yourself. At the heart of the work will be our therapeutic relationship through which we can start to explore difficult, sometimes painful, feelings or anxieties.

What next.
I suggest starting with a twenty minute phone call or zoom meeting where you can tell me a little about yourself, why you think you might want to want to start counselling and any questions you may have for me. I will then tell you a little about the way I work. This will give us an opportunity to see if we feel we want to work together.
